Undergraduate and Graduate Engineer Programmes

Introduction

Embark on an Undergraduate Programme with Pulse Power and Measurement (PPM), or join us as a Graduate, to develop your engineering experience and skills in a vibrant organisation.

From July 2025, join our multi-disciplinary engineering team of 30+ experts to work on projects ranging from RF over Fibre technology to power electronics. You will learn new skills, have visibility of the full product lifecycle, and manage your own projects. Aligned with the Engineering Council’s UK-SPEC, our programmes support your path to CEng, and set you on a structured career path with myriad specialisms including electronics, RF, software and systems.

As a subsidiary of BAE Systems within their newly-formed Digital Intelligence unit, PPM can offer you both the structured programme of a large company, and the responsibility and opportunity to work on interesting projects that a smaller company can better provide.

Our Undergraduate Programme is a 12-month placement in a live engineering environment, focusing on developing you as part of your studies.

Our Graduate Programme on the other hand is a permanent role within PPM, transitioning you from education into the first steps of your career.

Programmes suited to your development areas

The PPM Undergraduate and Graduate Programmes are tailored to you, with opportunities in line with your career aspirations, and flexible learning paths that support your own development areas, which include:

Project work
From day one, you will take responsibility of a project with support from your line manager and our experienced team. You will have the opportunity to present your work, and engage with customers and product owners along the way.

Team work
Work closely with programme and project leadership, our research team, and other teams within PPM such as production, quality, marketing, and sales. Gain exposure to a variety of both internal and external stakeholders.

Leadership
Accelerate your development by engaging with the senior leadership team and CEO at intervals throughout your programme.

Soft skills
Benefit from a dedicated graduate training budget. You will have access to external courses, and in-house training from highly experienced specialists within the PPM team.
